Rivendell is a former Edwardian sea captain’s house which has been a guest house for many years.
Angela and Barrie always extend a warm and friendly welcome to everyone and give you that sense of comfort straight away. On arrival a cup of tea or coffee is always offered and served in the pleasant lounge which has side sea views across the bay.
The bed and breakfast is on a quiet road with just a short stroll to the beach and town and close to the Train and bus stations. We have a selection of maps and books for you to borrow and even some binoculars for the seal, dolphin and Basking shark watchers.
St. Ives is world famous for its beaches. You really can take your pick from Porthminster to Porthmeor, there is something for everyone.
We look forward to welcoming both new and regular guests and hope you choose our house for your holiday.
Fame comes at last!! An episode of the Cornish Detective Wycliffe was filmed here in 1998, in the episode the murderer came to stay and killed off the lovely landlady. This episode is re-shown many times on TV and it is the last one they filmed. It is called Lands End. The name of our house was changed to The Golden Sands B&B and all new signs were made to cover our own (just for the filming).
Barrie is a St. Ives based photographer and has been taking photos for over twenty years.
